Selfcontained cottage accommodation for couples, families and family gatherings, groups, conferences/seminars, weddings and retreats. Based in the Pennyroyal Valley overlooking the Great
Otway State park just 20 mins from the Great Ocean Road and Lorne.
We invite you to explore our 60 acre retreat to relax, unwind and enjoy. The air is pure and fresh, the water from the Pennyroyal creek is crystal clear and has a plentiful supply of Trout to catch in season. Let the sounds of the bush and the sweet smell of the forest start to work their magic.
You can explore our private forest to find the Glow Worm grotto or sit silently down by the creek to see the platypus play in the early evening sunset. The wild life and birdlife are in abundance. We are also a registered alpaca stud known as Pennyroyal Alpacas. Feel free to feed the animals during your stay. There are animals for sale at most times of the year.
Birdsong is also a registered "Land for Wildlife Property" We try to be as Eco friendly to the environment as we can. All water is tank rainwater. We use our own firewood and have planted over 2000 trees since taking over the property.
Birdsong retreat has a variety of cottages :
The Farmhouse -This cottage has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and can sleep between 10-16 people. It is also used as the base for conferences and seminars.
The Homestead - Presently under construction. This will be finished in late 2006. It will consist of 6 double bedrooms all with their own verandahs and bathrooms.
The Jackeroo - Our smallest cottage – perfect for that romantic few days away or there is a second bedroom with an extra 3 single beds to make it suitable for a family. This cottage has a double spa bathroom.
The Stockmans - This is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage, one of which has a double spa. It can sleep from 2-10 by dividing the cottage.
The Barn - The perfect setting for your conference or meeting. Or it can be stylishly decorated for your weddings, anniversary, birthday or special occasion.
